A US postal worker is charged with stealing mail in Macomb County after the discovery of nearly 15,000 mail items at his Clinton Township home last month.

Tiara Vann, 30, admitted to having held the mail since September 2018, according to Federal Court documents filed with the US District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan.

Vann, an urban transport assistant at Warren Post, has resigned, said Elizabeth Najduch, spokesperson for the USPS Detroit Metro.

According to court records, investigators were notified after the call of an exterminator at Vann's home and saw a large pile of mail. Further investigation by Special Agents of the Office of the Inspector General of the USPS revealed that a first class courier belonged to a resident of Block 1300 Hendricks Avenue. This site was part of an itinerary attributed to Vann on December 7, 2018.
