A potentially active shooter has been reported on the campus of the University of Michigan.
UM Alert – Mason Hall Run Hide Fight, said Ann Arbor University, Michigan, in a flash bulletin to students at 4:55 pm.
Authorities said in an alert at 5:22 pm that there appeared to be no active threat, but warned the community to stay away from the area while the police are working on the scene.
Emergency radio traffic indicated that a group of students reported having blown up balloons, but this was not confirmed as the reason for the 911 calls.
