The Stockton on Tees rider, Daley Mathison, was killed as a result of an accident during the RST Superbike TT race on Monday morning.
Daley, who debuted at TT in 2013, was a member of the Penz13.com team and was ranked 19th in the race today.
A popular runner, Daley had some notable successes at the TT, including making the second fastest lap of the TT Zero.
Daley's wife, Natalie, posted the following message on Daley's twitter feed

A statement was issued on behalf of ACU Events Ltd, organizer of TT races in the Isle of Man:
ACU Events Ltd regrets to confirm that Daley Mathison, 27, of Stockton on Tees, Durham, was killed in an incident during the Superbike race today at the Isle of Man TT races. The accident occurred in Snugborough, just over 3 km from the course, in the third lap of the race.
Daley was an experienced competitor and was ranked 19th for today's race. He made his Mountain Course debut at the 2013 Manx Grand Prix A Race race, finishing fifth. His career in the TT included three consecutive podiums in the TT Zero electric bike race in 2016, 2017 and 2018, including second place in the race rankings last year, representing the University of Nottingham.
He also finished 11th in the Superstock race last year and 13th in the 2017 and 2018 Senior TT races.
He achieved his best lap time of 128.054 mph at the 2018 Superstock race, making him the 34th fastest rider of all time. He set the second fastest lap in TT Zero in his history with a lap of 119.294 mph in 2018.
In total, he started 19 races with 14 finishes and 3 podiums and won 6 silver and 8 bronze replicas.
ACU Events Ltd extends its deepest condolences to Daley's wife, Natalie, family and friends.
