NEWARK, NJ (CNN) – Investigators said that a driver had crashed into a school bus while she was apparently under the influence of drugs.

Witnesses claim that she crashed against that tree as she slowly moved to Newark on Wednesday afternoon. The first responders found her unconscious at the scene and used narcan to revive her.

12 students with special needs were on the bus. None of them was injured.

The 57-year-old driver, Lisa Byrd, was then hospitalized.

Byrd is now facing a series of charges; endangered children, drug possession and impaired driving.
