A security patch for April corrects AOD's Pixel 3 wake-up flash

The monthly Android security patch continues to provide functional updates for Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. In April, Google sent a complaint about the flashing white screen flashing on waking the ambient display. There are also connectivity-related fixes, even for the original pixel.

Some owners of Pixel 3 in recent months have found that the mood screen blinks before waking up to the normal screen. Instead of the transparent display of the color lock screen, the latest phones made by Google would be briefly very white.

Although it only lasts for a moment, it stays constant throughout the day and turns out to be an annoying bug, especially in dark environments. Google has removed what it calls "screen flash" and confirmed that it only happened for certain devices.

At the same time, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL models also improve voice unlock performance for Google Assistant. This probably refers to the recognition of hot words and the speed of unlocking, while the solution "Adjust Wi-Fi connectivity when activating eSIM on some operators" also appears. More and more operators remove physical SIM cards and opt for virtual implementations.

On a similar front, the original Pixel and Pixel XL will benefit from "enhanced Bluetooth connectivity".

The April security patch has just been announced for all Pixel phones at 10 am Pacific Time. At this point, pressing "Check for Updates" does not yet allow you to extract the OTA. However, if past months are an indication, this should happen shortly thereafter.
