A Democratic Senator from Illinois has come under fire over the weekend after posting online footage showing his supporters at a fundraiser during a sham Assassination of President Trump.
"The tolerant is gone," wrote a Facebook user in response to the incident.
The photos posted by a woman who witnessed the mock murder on Friday night show supporters of Senator Martin Sandoval, who represents the 11th district of Illinois – including parts of Chicago – acting in front of guests, according to the WCIA.
One of them can be seen pointing a fake machine gun on a man wearing a Trump mask and a Mexican suit. The individual seems to simulate a shot – catching his chest and leaning back.
In another picture, Sandoval can be seen standing next to the person holding the weapon.

"Why are you okay?" Asked a Facebook user. "I'm sick of it."
The images sparked outrage on both sides of the alley, the Democratic governor J.B. Pritzker blowing them up in a statement Saturday night.
"As our country grapples with the epidemic of gun violence, it is foolish and unfair to point a fake gun at anyone," Pritzker said. "I condemn actions such as those illustrated in the pictures, as they lack the civility required by our policy."
Sandoval issued a statement Sunday in which he apologized for this incident he described as unacceptable.
