A shooting in Madison damages a restaurant and the MPD investigation

MADiSON, Wis. (WMTV) – It has been reported several times that gunshots were fired at a restaurant on the east side of Madison early Sunday morning.

Officers were sent to Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in the 4800 block of Hayes Road. and E. Washington Ave. at 2 am, according to the Madison Police Department. When they arrived, several vehicles could be seen fleeing the area.

Police found evidence that several shots had been fired. Two restaurant windows were damaged during the shooting. The people were inside the restaurant at that time. No injuries have been reported.

According to Madison Police Chief Mike Koval's blog, the agents recovered 30 bushes from the site.

According to the department, additional shots could have been fired from the Comfort Inn and Suites located across the street. The police are still investigating.
