A shot injured six people in downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – Six people are recovering from a gunshot wound after a shootout on W. Maryland Street in downtown Indianapolis late Saturday night.

Investigators from the Metropolitan Police Department of Indianapolis said the fire had broken out shortly after 23 hours. in the 100 block of W. Maryland St. between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue, only a few blocks from Monument Circle.

According to IMPD, the six victims, including adolescents and adults, were awake and breathing when the police arrived and the investigators stated that their injuries did not pose a threat to life. They were taken to hospitals in the area for treatment.

Two of the victims were transported to hospital in critical but stable condition, while two others were in serious but stable condition and two people were slightly injured, according to IMPD.

IMPD stated that there was no suspect at the moment.
