Oakland Athletics slugger Khris Davis has signed a two-year extension that will keep him under contract until the 2021 season, the team said Thursday.

The A did not disclose the financial conditions, but sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN that the deal was $ 33.5 million.

Davis, 31, beats .260 with 10 home runs topping the league standings this season. He also has 20 RBIs.

"Oakland has been a special place for me since I arrived," Davis said in a statement released by the team. "I like to play here in front of our fans and my teammates make me feel like a family." I never concealed the fact that I wanted to stay in Oakland because it was not a big deal. I feel and am happy to be able to continue calling Oakland, my home baseball.

"This team has a bright future and I'm excited to be part of it."

Davis led the majors with 48 home runs last season. Since arriving in Oakland before the 2016 season, he has completed 143 circuits, the largest number of major tournaments of this period.

His three seasons with at least 40 homers at home are tied with Mark McGwire and the Jimmie Foxx Hall of Fame for most of A.'s story.

"Khris is a special talent that has had a tremendous impact both on and off the field," said Billy Beane, executive vice president of baseball operations at A. "He has become one of the most Most beloved to wear A's uniform and his commitment to Oakland has never faltered. He clearly stated from the start that he wanted to play and win here.We are delighted that Khris continue to be an A.
