Sin. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Received a bad news Wednesday when a preliminary poll showed her in fourth place in the main New Hampshire primary state, which happens to be a state close to her home, in the Massachusetts.
A survey from the University of Massachusetts released Wednesday to likely Democratic primary voters revealed that former vice president Joe Biden led the group with 28 percent of the vote, and Senator Bernie Sanders, I -Vt., Winner of the primary poll 2016, in second place with 20 percent. The poll revealed that Senator Kamala Harris, D-Calif., Was in third place with 14% of the vote, and Warren in fourth place, with only 9% of the vote.
Admittedly, since it remains about a year before the primary, it is obvious that Warren has plenty of time to gain ground. The strong performance of Biden could be mainly based on name recognition, and it's possible that he does not end up running. Sanders won in 2016, so he starts clearly with some degree of support. But for Californian Kamala Harris, having jumped so quickly Warren should be a cause for concern.
The Boston Media Market is a dominant presence in New Hampshire. Warren should therefore be well known to the primary voters of the state. In the past, being from Massachusetts had helped candidates Michael Dukakis, Paul Tsongas and John Kerry win the primary in New Hampshire.
In addition, Warren receives only lukewarm support from 12% of Liberals, which also places it in fourth place (Harris is at 20%). I mean, if there is a group among which Warren should be in front, it is the liberals from a neighboring state who are clearly aware of his record.
Incredibly, 26% of respondents said outright that they would not be willing to vote for Warren, a higher number than any other candidate.
