Scientists are not happy that a rare T. rex fossil found in Montana is for sale on eBYes.

The list, of a fossil hunter named Alan Detrich, says the relic may be the only one of its kind in the world.

Detrich found the fossil here in Montana, adding that he has a body 15 feet long and a 21-inch skull.

The list has a "buy now" price of nearly $ 3 million.

There does not seem to be any auction.

Some scientists and other critics describe the list as shameful, arguing that the fossil should remain in public trust so that it can continue to be studied.

The Natural History Museum of the University of Kansas had exhibited the fossil but had removed it because of the controversy, claiming that it did not sell fossils to anyone .

The museum also claims that he believed Detrich had planned to sell the fossil to a museum and not to a private collector.

Detrich has not responded to the media request for comments.
