POMPANO BEACH, Fl. – Igloo Products Corp. voluntarily recalls the coolers after the video of a Florida boy getting caught in one of the two ferrules.
Robert Wanes of Pompano Beach, Florida, posted a video of a security camera on Facebook, showing his son Nicholas, 5, getting into a cooler while playing hide and seek, according to WSVN.
Shortly after, the cooler lid closes completely, engaging the latch and locking the boy inside.
"So we always see the good things and although this story ends well, we hope there is something to learn," wrote Robert Wanes in the Facebook article. "My son Nicholas was locked in an igloo cooler. He was playing alone and thought it was a good idea. "
"It is possible that the stainless steel lock inadvertently closes where a person could potentially be locked inside," according to a statement posted on the Igloo website.
