A ultimate mATX gaming computer

True to its status as a high-end and botique system builder, in early 2019, Alienware deployed its "Legend" industrial design. Designed to differentiate the brand from its competitors, the futuristic design was rather different from the other gaming PCs currently available. Initially, Dell was using the new industrial design for laptops and monitors, and this week the company deployed its first Legend-designed mATX desktop in Alienware Aurora R9.

The Aurora R9 comes in a Lunar Light or Dark Side of the Moon chassis that is unlike anything we've seen before. In fact, this looks more like an element of Portal rather than a desktop computer. It still has AlienFX RGB (two or three zone) lighting for additional customization, but the system looks unique.

The new Aurora is a Micro-ATX motherboard based on the Intel Z370 chipset and compatible with Intel 9 processors.th Gen Core i3 / i5 / i7 / i9 processors, with unlocked K Series parts that have been overclocked at 4.4 GHz – 4.7 GHz, depending on the model. The cooling of these chips is in turn a closed-loop liquid cooling system customized by Alienware. At the same time, as in the case of Alienware, the chassis has well thought-out airflow, allowing the system to meet the cooling requirements of overclocked processors.

To complete the package, the processor can be paired with a Kingston HyperX DDR4-3200 memory of up to 64GB, an M.2 PCIe 3.0×4 SSD with capacity up to 2TB , or an SSD with Intel's Optane cache, and a 2GB hard drive at 7200 rpm. Hard disk.

Aimed at demanding players, the Alienware Aurora R9 can be equipped with a wide range of latest-generation AMD Radeon RX and NVIDIA GeForce GTX / RTX video cards. High-end models will come with a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti card or two GeForce RTX 2080 cards.

In terms of connectivity, the Alienware Aurora R9 features a GbE port (enabled by the Killer E2500 controller), a Wi-Fi 5 adapter, or Wi-Fi 6 adapter (Qualcomm DW1810 / DW1820 or Killer AX1650 Rivet) , type USB 3.1 Gen 1 Connectors A and Type-C and 7.1-channel audio.

As usual at Alienware, the end user can easily upgrade the Aurora R9, with case-free access functionality. It should be noted however that Alienware only equips low-end models with a 460 W power supply; so the upgrade options are a bit more limited on these models without the power block upgrade also.

The Alienware Aurora R9 is available now, with basic configurations starting at $ 969.99.
