A man armed with what the police claimed to be a heavily modified pistol arrived at a St. Louis bar on Wednesday morning and ordered customers to go to the ground – but Tony Tovar did not move from his seat.

"I did not tell another punk to try to take punk action," Tovar told KSDK-TV on Friday about the incident at Behrmann's Tavern.

"I am so tired that people in the south of the city are trying to fight their way with firearms, a bad attitude or a kind of aggression," he said. "I would not obey."

Images of the blocking attempt show the robber grabbing Tovar's mobile phone and grabbing it. He then shows that Tovar is calmly taking a cigarette, lighting it and taking a puff while the thief points his gun at him on the other side of the bar.

"I was not really worried," Tovar told the station. "I really did feel that he did not want to hurt anyone, he just wanted money from drugs."

Kevin Moore has been charged with the robbery, the channel reported Friday night. Police said Moore had a criminal record with convictions for assault, theft and possession of weapons.

"It's probably not in your interest to have a loaded firearm, I would not recommend it to anyone," he said.
