A video shows a New York man crushed by a lift on the Manhattan Promenade

The horrific video from The Post shows the moment when a man from Manhattan is crushed under the weight of his deluxe elevator that works poorly and dragged to his death in the darkness of the stem below.

Immediately after a man came out of the elevator in the lobby of the Manhattan Promenade building on Third Avenue at around 8:15, Sam Waisbren tried to follow. – but the elevator suddenly gave way, a heartbreaking video obtained by The Post shows.

Waisbren, 30, was fatally dragged along the wall between the elevator and the well, while five others remained, authorities said.

Waisbren was declared dead on the scene and the FDNY was able to rescue those who were still stranded in the elevator.

Inspectors from the city's buildings department were on the scene Thursday to review the killer lift.
