A horrific video shows a Texas policeman who shot a woman a few moments after she shouted, "I'm pregnant!" Receiving a Taser.
The woman – identified by her family as the grandmother of three children Pamela Turner, 44 – was shown fighting to resist the arrest of outstanding warrants in front of an apartment complex in Baytown Monday night, reported the Click2Houston KPRC.
"You are harassing me," they heard the unidentified officer shout, angrily saying, "I'm actually walking home."
The fuzzy movie surprises the cop who is pounding her, while she is shocked as she shouts, "I'm pregnant!
Five shots sounded, killing her on the scene, police claiming that at least one was hitting her face, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Lt. Steve Dorris of the Baytown Police Department said the police officer, an eleven-year-old veteran, was forced to defend himself after the woman seized his Taser.
"The woman was able to get the officer's Taser away from him," he said, according to KPRC.
"[She] In fact, the police officer was forced to pull his service weapon and fire several times at the suspect. "
The agent was put on administrative leave. He did not suffer serious injuries, the police said.
Turner's sister, Antoinette, confirmed to KPRC that her parent was the dead woman.
She stated that her sister – who has two children aged 20 and three grandchildren – was taking medication for the treatment of schizophrenia and that she had already complained that the policewoman, a neighbor, harassed her.
Witnesses told the station that Turner was "not a bad person" and that she "would only walk, smoke cigarettes and walk her dogs."
Family members were not able to confirm whether Turner was pregnant, KPRC said, while police also said they would not know it until after an autopsy.
The court records show that she had three outstanding warrants, depending on the station, two for felony and one for assault causing bodily harm.
The police say they want to talk to anyone who has filmed the video because they are key witnesses.
"It's unfortunate that someone takes a tragic incident like this and displays it on social networks," complained Dorris, according to KPRC. "It's extremely disrespectful to everyone involved, but it's the day we live with social media."
He added, "This is a tragic event for everyone involved. "Of course, our heart goes to the family of the deceased as well as to our officer."
