A motorist from Brooklyn, NY, went on a sidewalk this week apparently to bypass parked school buses and approached a few inches from schoolchildren, according to a video obtained by a former deputy from the state of New York.

Dov Hikand released the video on Wednesday and called on authorities to investigate the incident.

"I call @ NYPD66Pct for it to examine the problem and stop the man responsible for the careless endangerment of the children's well-being. All because he could not wait a few more minutes … ", tweeted Hikind.

The video was recorded in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

The New York Police Service told WABC-TV that detectives are investigating the issue.

"The video evidence and the license plate number were forwarded to the police chief of the 66th police station," Hikand told the television channel. "The community is asking for the arrest of this sick person who unnecessarily put children's lives at risk simply because he could not wait a few more minutes behind a bus."
