The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for North Texas in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday.
Thunderstorms were likely as a cold front was about to pass through the region on Sunday. The weather service has warned that some storms could produce large gusts of hail and wind up to 70 mph.
The possibility of tornadoes could not be ruled out, according to the weather service.

In an update on Twitter around 11 a.m., the weather service said a storm moving northeast through Denton County was capable of producing nickel-sized hail.
“If it continues to strengthen, the size of the hail is expected to increase,” the weather service said.
After the cold front has passed, the threat of severe weather is expected to decrease, according to Jason Dunn, a meteorologist with the meteorological service.
