A Wisconsin man was reportedly killed last Wednesday when lightning hit a tree and a branch fell on his tent while he was leaving for a hunt in Idaho.

Lee Mostowik, a friend and football teammate, said about Chris Perow, 33, according to Fox 6. "He was excited to spend time there."

Perow, from Waukesha County, Wisconsin, married his wife in June and had two sons aged 1 and 7 years old.

He died instantly in his sleep, reported Fox 6. "There was no suffering," said his GoFundMe page.

"Chris was the most extraordinary husband and the most amazing father of our two little boys," Lauren Perow told Fox 6. "Our time together as a family has been reduced far too short and our world is completely broken. "

Perow, who owned a concrete and landscaping business, apparently would not have life insurance.

"Chris has always been the one who would be there for you," said Mostowik, reported Fox 6. "You can call him and he would say," What do you need? "We are trying to overcome this together."

Perow was on a hunting trip with his brother-in-law.
