When Payton Wilson decided to wear her new pants at work, she did not expect to find a bloody surprise inside.

The 20-year-old US laboratory worker from Washington, DC, had bought the pants at Walmart, a popular supermarket chain in the United States, and the first time she wore it, she noticed a lump in one of the pockets.

It turned out to be a used tampon, wrapped in a piece of paper.

In a strange coincidence, Payton works as a phlebotomist (a person who takes blood from patients) and analyzed blood samples when she found the tampon.

"I was sitting in my office taking blood samples when I noticed that I had a lump in my pocket but I did not remember putting anything in there," he said. she told The Sun.

"I looked in my pocket and it was a crumpled piece of paper; so I thought at first that it was a note, but by unfolding it, I saw blood and it was a used stamp.

"I was absolutely mortified. Who in their minds would do that?

"I do not know if it was a joke or why anyone would do it, but it's absolutely not justifiable, it was absolutely disgusting."

Because of his work, Payton wore rubber gloves at the time.

She said: "If someone else had bought them and was not wearing gloves, who knows the type of diseases they could have contracted.

"I had washed all the pants before wearing them, but from now on I will check the pockets of every item I buy before I even remove it from the rail.

"I do not want to ever live that again."

She also returned to Walmart to explain the situation. The team apologized and offered her a gift card worth about £ 40.
