"I hear with everyone": a woman celebrates her 30 years working at the restaurant

Peggy Lombardi has been at a McDonald's restaurant in Minnesota for 30 years. Recently, she was honored for her dedication and hard work. "When she comes in, she's always happy," said restaurant owner Terry Ritchey. "She's always the same along the way, she's bringing friends, she's bringing family, she's just a joy to live with." Lombardi started working at the restaurant in 1989 with the help of Pride Industries, which trains people with disabilities. "It's very important," said Gloria McNally of Pride Industries. "Peggy does not have a family here – she has friends, but not like here – that's what she calls home." "I like managers, customers," Lombardi said. "I hear with everyone." Over the years, Lombardi has created lasting friendships with clients and colleagues. One of them is Eva Schuster. "She really pays attention to the little things when you come in," said Schuster. "Your needs, if you need something, she'll go get it for you.I mean it's going beyond expectations." After 30 years, Lombardi has no plans to leave any time soon. "If I retire right away, I will not have anything to do," she said.
