A woman was reportedly filmed by surveillance videos throwing seven newborn puppies into a dumpster in Coachella Valley, California, authorities said. Authorities are trying to identify the woman who appears in the pictures of an auto body shop, reports KESQ, an affiliate of CBS Palm Springs.

The sequence shows the woman coming out of her car and heading for the dumpster. She seems to be looking for a place to leave them. Without pausing, she throws the plastic bag containing the 3-day-old terrier mixes and goes on, tells Riverside County Animal Services.

Shortly after being abandoned, a man rummaging through the dumpster spotted the plastic bag filled with puppies. Local police responded around 2 pm and took the puppies to the services of the animals.

"The Good Samaritan has played a major role in saving the lives of these puppies," said Chris Mayer, commander of the Riverside County Wildlife Service. "His actions were human and heroic."

If they had not been found as quickly as they had been, the pups would not have survived much longer at a 90-degree heat, Riverside County said. Animal Services.

"There is no excuse for unloading the puppies," Mayer said. "Especially in our time when we, or other shelters, would be willing to turn these animals into adoptive parents or rescue partners." It was a shameful act.

The seven puppies managed to survive after being abandoned under such conditions and are now supported by a rescue organization based in Southern California.
