Huber Heights, Ohio Wayne 2022 offensive lineman Aamil wagner had a big bump in the rankings in the last football season. He is currently a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country’s No. 88 overall in 2022, the No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 4 in Ohio.
Wagner is also now a rookie in the state, the Ohio State Buckeyes offered a scholarship. Wagner posted to offer on his Twitter account Monday night.
“Extremely lucky to receive an offer from Ohio State University,” Wagner said on his Twitter account.
The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Wagner, who has played the offensive left tackle this season, has more than two dozen scholarship offers which, in addition to Ohio State, include Notre Dame, Michigan State, Penn State, Stanford, Oregon, West Virginia, Virginia, Michigan, Northwest, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pitt, Cincinnati and Purdue.
Right now I’m still keeping all of my options open, ”Wagner told Bucknuts in February. “As things get closer to the season, I’m going to cut it down.”
Wagner is eagerly awaiting when the NCAA re-authorizes visitation.
“Right now, I would like to visit all of my offers,” Wagner said. “But at first, I will go to schools that are accessible by car. If they allow official visits, I want to take all five. “
The Buckeyes have been in contact with Wagner more often recently.
“I’m talking both ways with Coach (Greg) Stud (rawa),” Wagner said. “He likes my height and my athleticism. He’s talking about keeping my weight off. We talk a lot about football and get to know me. (The state of Ohio has) excellent sports and education. “
With Wagner’s desire to make official visits, it will likely take some time for him to make his choice of college.
