Touching moment on the baseball field Tuesday … Aaron Judge took the time of his pre-game warm-up to surprise a child whose father had just died – and their meeting was great.
Kellen Wilsonthe father, Kyle – who attended the judge's alma mater, state of Fresno – died tragically last October at the age of 36 … and the judge was so touched by the story that he sent this jersey few weeks later.
But when the Aaron Yankees made the trip to Wilson's hometown to play A on Tuesday … it was unclear whether the judge could meet Kellen in person, especially after the team avoided the pre-game bat training.
But the judge took the time to pick up Kellen anyway … and the two had an extraordinary meeting – which Kellen's mother said was a total surprise for everyone.
I hope it's the best thing Aaron Judge does on the pitch tonight … he just made a day for young Fresno State fans pic.twitter.com/w3urEQOt82

"He [Kellen] had no idea, although [that he was going to meet Judge]" Chelsy Wilson told MLB.com "And we had no idea, and when the Yankees did not take the stick training, they did not think about it."
"But Kyle pulls the strings on top." We are very grateful to Mr. Judge, he was an incredible model for Kellen, even sending a sweater to Kellen in December. "
A 6-foot-7 judge took a picture with Kellen on the field, signed his shirt and signed his stick … and the two could even have a short conversation.
Then the judge came out and hit one of the most monstrous home runs of the season … exploding a 474 feet !!!
"He is exactly the kind of human and the player that Kyle has recommended to Kellen to admire," Chelsy said. "How hard he works, how he treats others, and all that he represents."
