Aaron Rodgers addresses rampant business speculation that he plans to end up with the Steelers in 2022

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers raised eyebrows in the NFL last week when he admired Steelers coach Mike Tomlin in an interview with Pat McAfee, which took place just days before Green Bay defeated Pittsburgh 27-17.

With Rodgers unhappy at Green Bay, speculation immediately began after the interview that the Packers quarterback was doing his best to let the Steelers know he wanted to play for them. Speculation then came to a head DURING the Week 4 game after Rodgers and Tomlin spent some time together.

The above nod came after Tomlin called a timeout, which prevented Rodgers from catching the Steelers defense with 12 players on the pitch.

When you look at everything that’s been going on between the two guys over the past 10 days, it’s easy to see why some people think Rodgers is signaling the Steelers to chase him this offseason. However, during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfree Show“Rodgers said, that just isn’t the case.

“I’m just telling the truth,” Rodgers said. “Ask me a question about Mike Tomlin, I’ll tell you how I feel about Mike Tomlin. If you want to take that and run with it and say I’m looking for some sort of next team or something, I’m ‘just answering ‘to a question about my respect for Mike and what he has accomplished in the league. “

That being said, Rodgers also pointed out once again that he is a huge fan of the Steelers coach.

“I’m a huge Mike Tomlin fan. since a long time“Rodgers said.” I love the way he talks about his team. I like the way he conducts his business. I like his confidence. I only heard great things from the guys who played there. I love Mike Tomlin. ”

Comments like this will certainly maintain speculation that Rodgers wants to play for the Steelers next season.

By the way, this speculation started because of what Rodgers said BEFORE the Packers played the Steelers.

“I have a lot of respect for Mike,” Rodgers said Sept. 28. “I think he’s a fantastic coach. I love the way he leads. I love the way he talks after games. He always seems to keep things going really even. one that gamers love to play for. “

As for Tomlin, admiration seems mutual with Rodgers.

“If you’re a competitor you like to be in that environment,” Tomlin said this week against Rodgers at Lambeau Field, via Triblive.com. “You like to pit your skills, your talents, and your preparation against people like these guys, led by a guy like this guy.”

After a dramatic offseason at Green Bay, Rodgers made it clear in August that he wasn’t exactly happy with the Packers. Unless something changes in the future, there is a possibility that he will be leaving Green Bay in the next offseason and from his comments it looks like he wouldn’t mind if he ended up in Pittsburgh in playing for Tomlin.
