In his regular appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers rocked Pittsburgh ahead of his team’s game against the Steelers.
His overt praise for coach Mike Tomlin, the Steelers’ winning tradition and even “Pittsburgh Dad” made Steelers fans wonder if Rodgers might be interested in picking Pittsburgh as his favorite destination if he tried to force a trade off. Green Bay after this season.
That discussion took off even more during the game when the Network TV camera caught Rodgers and Tomlin in a friendly non-verbal joke after a Tomlin timeout choked Rodgers ‘attempt to grab the Steelers’ defense with too much. men in the field.
Rodgers returned to McAfee’s show on Tuesday following Green Bay’s 27-17 win and addressed all speculation.
“I’m just telling the truth,” Rodgers said. “If you ask me a question about Mike Tomlin, I’ll tell you what I think about Mike Tomlin. If you want to take that and run with it and say I’m looking for some sort of next team or something, I’m not. I’m just answering the question about my respect for Mike and what he’s done in the league. And the same goes for when I mentioned Ben (Roethlisberger).
It was the headlines in Pittsburgh that you was gonna be a Steeler after last week

That said, McAfee co-host AJ Hawk put more emphasis on Rodgers about his affinity for Tomlin and the timeout trade at Lambeau Field.
“I am a huge fan of Mike Tomlin. I have been for a long time. I like the way he talks about his team. I like the way he runs his business. I like his confidence. I only heard great things from the guys who played there. I love Mike Tomlin, ”Rodgers said.

In Pittsburgh, during his weekly press conference, Tomlin also addressed the back and forths with Rodgers during the time out.
“These are chess, not checkers,” said Tomlin. “If you’re a competitor you like to be in that environment, you like to pit your skills, your talents and your preparation against people like these guys, led by a guy like this guy. Particularly in his room, due to the latitude it gives him to get in and out of the line of scrimmage and have the ability to change his pace in a thoughtful way, whether that’s speeding it up or slowing it down.
As if this mutual admiration society needed more flattering, Pittsburgh Dad even stepped in with a personal recruiting video for Rodgers.

Well, if that doesn’t spur Rodgers to make his way through the City of Steel, I don’t know what else could.
