Abigail Breslin shared a heartbreaking tribute to her father Michael on Friday after his death from COVID-19.

In a heart-wrenching Instagram post, the 24-year-old actress broke the devastating news, alongside photos of her father, who died at the age of 78, throughout his life.

‘Oh wow. Difficult to write that. Harder than I thought. I am in shock and devastation, ”the Oscar nominee began in her long tribute.

She continued, “ At 6:32 p.m. EST my sweet, perfect, amazing, heroic and wonderful daddy passed away after my family and I said goodbye. ”

“ It was COVID-19 that took my sweet daddy’s life too short, ” she added. “I appreciate more than you think, the love and support that my family and I have received.

As Breslin mourned her father, she told her 527,000 followers that she wanted to remember him “for who he was.”

“ My father was a hilarious, loud, tenacious, rebellious, intelligent, gentle and amazing human being. He loved life. He loved his family. He liked it simple, ”the Scream Queens alumnus wrote of the telecommunications expert, consultant and computer programmer.

She continued to gush with her love for “a cup of coffee (black, heated for 66 seconds),” barbecue “and Bryeyer’s ice cream.

“ He loved dogs and cats and all animals and he especially loved hearing funny stories about my pets in particular, ” Breslin said, noting that she had inherited being an “ animal lover. ” from him.

“ He loved taking photos and flying planes and good 50’s and 60’s dinners and music and good canapes and Kenyan mountain coffee and funny YouTube videos and email threads and weird poems and politics and he loved me and he loved my brothers and he loved my mom, she concludes.

His brothers Ryan and Spencer, who are also actors, have written their own praise on social media.

“How do you say goodbye to your father?” Spencer asked. “ I love this man who helped me enter this world, raised me and loved my mom and my two amazing siblings. Death is the one thing we all have in common, but never expect it. I love you dad. Forever and ever.’

Meanwhile, Ryan wrote about his father’s upbringing, his stint in the Air Force, and overcoming “ a lot of hardships and obstacles in his life. ”

Ryan continued, “He always set an unprecedented example of willpower, determination” and was a champion of the people he loved. ”

Earlier this month, Abigail called on her fans to take the COVID-19 pandemic seriously and simply “ wear your d * mn masks. ”

While recounting her father’s battle with the relentless coronavirus, she asked for ‘prayers and positivity’ as he fought for his life on a ventilator.

Speaking to Instagram, the Little Miss Sunshine star shared her grievances with those who continue to flout the mandate to wear a mask, as she tried to shed light on the gravity of the situation, noting that her father was “ unaware ”.

She first announced that her father was “ unaware ” with a Tweeter and says she always calls to talk to him.

“I’m so used to talking to Dad several times a day. I keep calling and talking to him thanks to the AMAZING nurses who work so hard and make sure he can hear me even though he’s not conscious. I can’t wait to hear his voice again. I love you dad, ” she wrote on Twitter earlier today.

The star first shared the news of her father’s battle on February 10, with a post that read:

‘Hi guys. Unfortunately, this post is not the one I thought I should post. I ask for prayers and positivity sent this way for my dad, Michael who tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be placed on a ventilator this morning.
