Actress Abigail Breslin announced the death of her father Michael Breslin on Friday after battling COVID-19.
“Oh wow. Hard to write that. Harder than I thought. I’m in shock and devastation,” she made a long Instagram post Friday night. “At 6:32 pm EST, my adorable, perfect, amazing, heroic and wonderful dad passed away after my family and I said goodbye.
She added that it was COVID-19 that “took my nice daddy’s life too short.”
Earlier this month, the “Scream Queens” star, 24, asked fans for “prayers and positivity” after her father was put on a ventilator.
Telling fans that she appreciates the love and support she and her family received, she wrote, “I want to remember my dad for who he was.”
“My father was a hilarious, loud, tenacious, rebellious, intelligent, gentle and amazing human being. He loved life. He loved his family. He liked the simple things… ”his homage continued.
“And we liked it,” she concluded. “And we always will. I miss you dad. I can not wait to see you again. I will never, ever, ever forget you. Towards the moon and back to hobby … “

Breslin posted a series of photos of Michael over the years alongside his tribute.
His brothers, Ryan and Spencer, also posted tributes to their father, while Breslin’s famous friends sent their condolences.
