The New York Rangers traded defenseman Adam McQuaid against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Rangers first acquired McQuaid of the Boston Bruins in exchange for Steven Kampfer, a fourth and seventh in 2019, which allowed them to recover the majority of their initial investment.

McQuaid has appeared in 36 games and has two goals and three assists for five points.

UPDATE

According to Kevin Weekes on the NHL network, Julius Bergman will also join the Rangers.

Bergman, 23, was selected in the second round of the 2014 project by the San Jose Sharks. He went to see the Ottawa Senators in Mike Hoffman's trade and was treated with Columbus in Matt Duchene's business. Bergman should head to the Hart Wolf Pack, having played 256 games in the AHL with just 73 points.

Stay tuned for more details as soon as they arrive.
