Addison Rae Does TikTok Dances On Jimmy Fallon

Where does Jimmy Fallon think TikTok dances come from? Does he think teens learn them at Zoom School as part of a federally mandated curriculum? Or maybe they just come out of the pupae, fully finalized and bursting with youth, like the cocoons of Cocoon? We ask because on Friday TikTok star Addison Rae did a segment on Tonight’s show called “Addison Rae Teaches Jimmy 8 TikTok Dances”, which isn’t even what it sounds like, as he doesn’t try to do most of the dances; he’s sort of standing there, holding index cards with song / dance names like “Savage” and “Corvette Corvette” as Rae shows them to live music. Rae’s smile is still and the rally peps wide as she makes her way through the warmed up Applebee’s dance sampler board, and not a word is spoken in the entire segment, which makes its two and a half minutes longer than the Snyder Cut. The segment has left many the viewers sound system their disappointment sure Twitter, because at no point in the routine, nor in the interview that follows it, does Fallon or Rae recognize the creators of Black and POC behind the majority of these viral dances.

View Host Sunny Hostin tweeted the segment on Sunday, writing, “She’s a miss @jimmyfallon. Let’s give credit to black designers… ”

Writer Bria Celest shared the segment with a list of some of the dance makers.

Bryce Hall didn’t weigh in one way or another.
