Adele is emotional as she says Beyoncé should have won at the Grammys

Adele won first prize at the 2017 Grammys, but maintains the album of the year should have gone to Beyoncé. The British singer, who declared her love for Beyoncé Lemonade during her memorable acceptance speech, revealed that the two had spoken privately after the show.

The singer’s husband at the time, Simon Konecki, a charity executive, brought her back a second time and Beyoncé’s publicist cleared the room.

“I just told her, like, the way the Grammys work, and the people who control it right up there – they don’t know what a visual album is. They don’t want to support the way that she pushes it forward. the things with her outings and the things she talks about, ”says Adele.

When asked why Lemonade deserved to win, Adele replied, “To my friends who are women of color, it was such a huge recognition for them, of the kind of heartache they go through. the whole world? During her acceptance speech, Adele accidentally snapped the Grammy Award she was holding.

“I was wringing my hands and the piece from the gramophone came off,” she recalls, noting that the one given is a fake. But when the real reward finally arrived, it was shattered.

“It broke when it was sent to me,” Adele said, revealing that she hadn’t fixed it. The trophy is placed on a shelf with a fruit stuck in the broken part. “There is a lemon in it.”

Adele is getting ready for the highly anticipated release of her new album, 30. The singer announced Tuesday that the first single, “Easy on Me”, will be released on October 15.
