Adele is officially back with a teaser for what appears to be her first single from her upcoming album. The singer dropped the teaser on Instagram with a caption that read “Easy on Me – October 15”.
In the accompanying black and white video, Adele pops a tape while driving a car. While a piano ballad is playing, she walks down the road while several pieces of sheet music fly out the window.
The singer started teasing what appears to be her new album last Friday. A series of billboards around the world housed projections of the number “30”. He has appeared in famous places, including outside the Louvre in Paris, on the Colosseum in Rome, and near the top of the Empire State Building in New York. It goes without saying that the number would be the name of his next album following his tradition of naming his records after his age; she separated from her husband at the age of 30.
New record would mark Adele’s fourth album and first in six years, after 2015 25. This record followed its breakthrough in 2011 21, and holds the record for album sales in the United States in one week. 25 also won two Grammys: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Last October, she made a surprise comeback on Saturday Night Live as a host. She joked during her monologue, “I know there has been a lot of talk that I’m just the host. Like ‘Why isn’t she the musical guest?’ and stuff like that. And there are several reasons. My album isn’t finished, and I’m also too scared to do both… I’d rather just put on wigs… have a glass of wine or six and see what happens.
