An Ohio university will remove from the theater of a campus the name of an actress who starred in "The Birth of a Nation", considered one of the most popular films in the world. more racist never made.

The Blade reports that the directors of Bowling Green State University voted 7-0 on Friday to drop the last name of actresses Dorothy and Lillian Gish after the school's Black Student Union expressed concern when the theater little used had been transferred to the student union.

Lillian Gish starred in the 1915 silent film, which served as a tribute to the Ku Klux Klan and helped revive the White supremacist group.

Last month, a university task force released a report stating that Gish's name and posters on "The Birth of a Nation" contributed to an "intimidating, even hostile, educational environment."
