Adobe adds collaborative tool to Photoshop and Illustrator

Quarantined memes creators and besieged graphic designers can take comfort in the fact that Adobe is making it easier to collaborate with some of its flagship products.

It’s a small adjustment in the quality of life, but if you use Photoshop, Illustrator, or Fresco and work with other people, the “Invite to Edit” button will probably be part of your everyday life. Adobe announced the feature on Tuesday, and it should have already been deployed in updated user apps. Just look in the right corner of the interface and you should see a button that looks like this:

A click on the button opens a field to invite a collaborator via his e-mail address. A successful connection will share the document within the program among several parties, but unfortunately only one person can work on it at a time.

Yet it beats sending and resending and resending FINALforReal7.psd via email whenever a team member makes a small adjustment. And version history is supported on collaborative documents.

Adobe also added the ability to sync brushes, swatches, gradients, patterns, styles, and shapes across devices with your Creative Cloud account.

The new features are now available for desktop, iPad and iPhone apps.
