Adventure time maybe finished, but there will be more coming to HBO Max in the near future.
Following a one-off BMO-centric event, the next adventure promises to center on everyone’s favorite Goth-Prep WLW couple Marceline the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum (ship name: Bubbline). Distant lands – Obsidian finds the couple pondering their relationship on a trip to the Glass Kingdom. The first trailer shows a few snippets of cute domestic life, as well as battles against dark and spooky creatures.
The extent of Marceline’s past relationship with Bubblegum has been touched upon throughout the show. While showrunner Adam Muto said it wasn’t in the original pitch, the idea that the two had been romantically involved in the past evolved over the course of the series. In the finale, the two shared a kiss, confirming their feelings.
Distant Lands – BMO is currently airing on HBO Max. Obsidian will drop on the streaming service on November 19.
