AEW All Out in Chicago, IL, closed with Chris Jericho against Adam "Hangman" Page to crown the first-ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion. Page's wife and her parents were seen sitting by the ring for this game.
Jericho is much better prepared for this match and JR said he looked better than in years. Part of the action took place near the Page Page family. Jericho used the ringtone and a microphone as a weapon.
Late in the game, Jericho was bloodied after receiving a discus punch at Page's eye. Moments later, Page jumped to his neck but Jericho pulled away from the attempt.
Late in the match, Page delivered a moon moon over Jericho at the ring and Page sold his knee after the awkward landing. Advertisers pointed out that it was the same knee that had been injured most of the year. Page looked for the Lucks Buckshot but Jericho caught up with the Codebreaker. Page expelled at two-thirty. Page ends up reaching the Deadeye but Jericho breaks free from the bug attempt.
Jericho hit the Judas effect and pinned Page to win the title.
