AEW Rewind: Malakai Black Wants To Save Cody, Deeb’s Injury Status, More!

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Do not worry. We’ve got you covered with the AEW Rewind, which will rewind last week’s social media tracks and YouTube videos to get you ready for Wednesday night. Dynamite.

AEW Road to Homecoming excited Malakai Black against Cody Rhodes, Miro defending the TNT title and Chris Jericho battling Juventud Guerrera as MJF’s third job.

Black gave a good overview of his motives. The embarrassing truth is that Cody is smart, strong, accomplished, outdated, overwhelmed, and he’s getting to the point where he’s guilty of trying to be a top player. Black’s message was that it was time for Cody to quit. He wants Cody to be okay as he returns home to raise his family. Black claims fans want unprecedented levels of violence, and he’ll give them a better hero. It seems to me that Black should make an appointment with Dario Cueto.

Miro pretty much shared the same post from previous promos edited together. Lee Johnson won’t be the one to take Miro’s divine right to the TNT title. Big Shotty thinks he’s ready to seize the opportunity. He will use the advice of the Nightmare Family to shock the world. God chose Johnson to expose Miro as a false prophet.

Chris Jericho had one of the toughest games of his career against Nick Gage. Jericho will pass Juventud’s next test as he needs to win to have the opportunity to fight MJF even if it kills him.

Interestingly, Jericho was the man who unmasked Juvi. They had a title match against mask at Super Brawl VIII in WCW. Here’s a look at the action.

Ultimately, Jericho countered a hurricane in a Liontamer submission. Juventud will use this moment as motivation for revenge. The Juice will also dedicate the match to Eddie Guerrero.

Serena Deeb has opened up about her current state of injury. She tried to fight the knee pain, but it took its toll. Deeb turned her unease into a promo about why she’s the best. She has the old school mentality of overcoming adversity. Deeb is always looking to improve herself and will show why she is the best wrestler. She towed this teenage line of hard truths and confidence. I know I will support her when she returns.

Be the elite

“The Elite Squad” – Being the Elite, Ep. 267 (here) featured:

  • Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks were in the locker room celebrating their victory over Hangman Page and the Dark Order. They should feel happier than they are, but something was wrong. Nick Jackson speculated that they took the big PPV main event away from fans. Do they feel bad about it? Not at all.
  • Nick wanted to know why Brandon Cutler violated their orders to put Dark Order on BTE last week. As punishment, Nick asked Cutler to cheat every week and love him too.
  • Matt Jackson brushed his hair on the conveyor belt inside the airport.
  • Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy helped Wheeler Yuta study his match against Darby Allin.
  • Leva Bates and Peter Avalon shared a scene dubbed in Japanese. Avalon admitted he hadn’t moved, but Bates wasn’t interested. Abadon appeared inside TV as one of those horror movies.
  • Ryan Nemeth used his cream for a Dream Cream Xtreme infomercial.
  • The Elite has practiced its entry into the Space Jam. Highlights of the match followed.

There is pretty much nothing of value in this episode of BTE to enhance your viewing pleasure for tonight. Dynamite.
