AEW Rewind: Young Bucks takes on Omega, Taz’s surprise for Sting, more!

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Do not worry. We’ve got you covered with AEW Rewind, who will be returning to social media and YouTube videos from last week to get you ready for Wednesday night. Dynamite.

Last week on Dynamite, Don Callis made a switcheroo for the Good Brothers to replace the Young Bucks as Kenny Omega’s partners in the threesome action. The opening scene of Being the Elite addressed this problem.

“Dupé” – Being the Elite, Ep. 239 featured:

  • The Young Bucks were sorry to be replaced by the Good Brothers. Kenny Omega claimed he was not aware of the change. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows also pleaded ignorance. They were just going through the Impact registration trying to get a payday. They never want to struggle anyway. Nick Jackson bought this logic. Fingers were pointed at Don Callis. As long as it hasn’t been planned by Omega or the Good Brothers, the Bucks are cool with them. After the release of Omega and The Good Brothers, the Bucks said they thought they were 100% lying.
  • Stu Grayson was on the phone trying to get a chocolate horse. The rest of the Dark Order planned the party before Hangman Page joined the Dark Order. The hanged man entered, but they shouted for him to leave. The Dark Order didn’t want to spoil the surprise.
  • Allie and Brandon Cutler were cordial in the hallway, then both made faces behind each other’s backs.
  • Private Party was angry with Matt Hardy for making them stupid. Hardy was angry at the disrespect for calling him a carny. Nonetheless, Hardy will guide them to success. The most important thing is that Private Party wins its match on Dark by any means necessary.
  • Kris Statlander has abducted Brian Pillman Jr. for testing.
  • Peter Avalon and Leva Bates shared an awkward little chat as former associates.
  • Statlander told Pillman to say, “Eye em sofa king stoop ed.” (I’m so stupid.) Pillman was agitated to call himself stupid, so Statlander kicked him out.
  • Luchasaurus tried to steal a cola when Cutler got in the way. A bit of trash talk followed before their match on Dark.
  • Bates admitted to Kip Sabian that she let him win at video games. Sabian refused to believe this and challenged her to another duel.
  • John Silver successfully retained the BTE Championship against Alex Reynolds in a game of beer pong. Instead of ping pong balls, they had to use water bottle caps.
  • The Bucks were leaving their spacious new locker room when Hardy walked around to demand payment due to the contract Matt Jackson signed last week. Hardy took all the money from their wallet, which stood at $ 1,000. In addition, the contract stated that Hardy is the only one with the key to the room. Jackson was confused, as he was pretty sure he had signed a blank piece of paper. The Bucks swept it away because they’re willing to live on the cash.

BTE’s first scene is important to watch, as these things don’t seem to be explained very well on Dynamite. However, the end result didn’t really move the story forward. At least everyone said the blame on Don Callis. It is progress.

As for the other odds and ends of last week, Taz has a surprise for Sting to even the odds.

Freshly become the No. 1 contender for the Impact titles last night, Private Party felt like royalty with Matt Hardy in the lead. Private Party loves the life of private planes and tiny bottles of liquor. In Matt, they trust.

Private Parties are not the only ones to evolve in the world. Cody Rhodes has become a bus guy.

PWI presented some of their annual awards for 2020 to the AEW winners. Orange Cassidy won the most popular wrestler. She was even the happiest Cassidy had ever been.

The Young Bucks were interviewed for winning the Game of the Year honor against Hangman Page and Kenny Omega. Matt Jackson shared a story of Sting’s praise for the fight.

We will end with a minor programming note. Dark AEW East now available in Spanish on YouTube for Sundays at 10 a.m. ET.

Who do you think orchestrated the change to the Elite label team? If the Taz team shows up with baseball bats Dynamite, so what should be the next weaponry progression in this feud?
