The Kansas City Chiefs are “likely” to have running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC title game on Sunday, according to ESPN Adam schefter.
The Chiefs will likely have running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire but will be without Le’Veon Bell for the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills, according to the source.
Additionally, the Chiefs will test ahead of the WR Sammy Watkins game, but don’t seem optimistic he will play today.

Edwards-Helaire is officially questionable entering the game due to a high ankle sprain he sustained against the New Orleans Saints in Week 15. Veteran substitute Le’Veon Bell – also questionable – is expected to miss the game after his knee swells on Wednesday. With Bell sidelined, expect the Chiefs to primarily use a combination of Edwards-Helaire and Darrel Williams against the Bills.
Wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who is also questionable, is a game time decision due to his calf injury. Watkins led the Chiefs to the playoffs in 2018 and 2019. The Chiefs would have to use a combination of Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle if Watkins would miss his second straight playoff game (divisional round analysis).
Cornerback Bashaud Breeland eliminated the concussion protocol on Saturday and will play against the Bills.
The Chiefs play the Bills for the right to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LV at 5:40 p.m. Arrowhead time.
