2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 spied, great and responsible

Mercedes-Benz did well to keep its future GLS-Clbad SUV in the public eye. The unusual viewer is a rare sight for our spy photographers, but the high-performance AMG variant is even rarer. In fact, we have not seen Merc's SUV muscle since October, and even then, it only appeared a few times for us. The GLS 63 carries a considerable camouflage in this new sighting, but it remains our best look so far on what should be a real machine.

For starters, the lower ride height and the powerful brakes make us think that it 's an AMG model, not to mention the exhaust outlets for quad at l' 39. ;back. The seven-pbadenger sport utility vehicle also has very wide tires at the rear, suggesting that many horses will reach the sidewalk. We did not hear a slight murmur about the amount of energy remaining, but something north of 600 hp (448 kilowatts) is anything but guaranteed. Perhaps the best question is whether this power will come from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 or a new one.

Cladding and camouflage are still heavy on this prototype, but since our last observation, the SUV seems to have acquired a rear fairing and taillights to meet production specifications. The details at the front are much more difficult to see and it is possible that the components behind the facade are still in development. We do not know about interior shots either, but since this is Mercedes' high-performance SUV, you can expect it to be flooded with digital screens and the latest technology, including badistance to autonomous drivers.

An official roadmap of the product has taught us that Mercedes plans to unveil the standard GLS clbad in the second half of this year. This means that we will probably have another year to see this AMG variant, but it is worth the wait.
