Bangladesh is about to suffer a huge defeat at the innings in Antigua after collapsing for the second time in as many days

SEE SCORDE'S POINT

Visitors will head to the third day the 62/6, still 301 behind the score of the Windies on the first innings. The forwards started the day with a 158-point lead and Kraigg Brathwaite (121) quickly converted his undefeated 88-digit trio while he and Devendra Bishoo, the night watchman, extended their partnership to 52 before Kamrul Islam for a valiant 19 of 79 deliveries.

The seventh century of Brathwaite was that of supreme patience and calm, and a well-designed 67 of the elegant Shai Hope (67) took Bangladesh's game further.

The second session gave 104 pbadages for four wickets; Shakib Al Hasan grabbing Brathwaite's important scalp, while he and Mehidy Hasan did the light work of Shane Dowrich and Roston Chase, who fell for four and two, respectively.

Jason Holder and Kemar Roach provided a destructive bite to the Windies' tail, scoring 33 points and providing excellent support for Hope. Roach had a wonderful test up to now with the ball and he also looked accomplished with bat in hand, hitting six fours and six.

This was a fiery effort on the part of Bangladeshi bowling players on the second day, but they had a mountain to climb given their dismal batting performance the previous day when they were skittled for 43.

After finally rejecting the hosts for 406, Bangladesh needed a stoic effort in their second innings to give themselves a chance to save the whole match. Tamim Iqbal, Bangaldesh's best drummer, was the first to fall again, scoring at Hope in the slips as Shannon Gabriel (4/36) continued his superb recent form.

Mominul Haque was unhappy, surviving one bullet before Gabriel cleansed him with the one who skidded and pulled out his stump. Liton Das fell in one fell swoop, Jason Holder (2/15) and Brathwaite in the slips, before Gabriel took another, this time between Mushfiqur Rahim's stick and the mat.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan was the fifth to be gone while Bangladesh surrendered, Gabriel getting the ball to defeat maliciously and Holder engulfing luck excellently in the drawstring down to his right. Holder's consistent lines continued to sound the drummers, and he was rewarded with his second scalp while Mehidy pitched one to Dowrich behind the stumps

It was another superb overall performance of the Windies – even without Roach's bowling services that was resting a knee injury – and Bangladesh certainly only play for pride at this point, looking for some kind of positivity to take in the second test in Jamaica.
