The student of the year. Durban University of Technology Brink plunged deeply into His heritage and that of the nation to find inspiration for his garment.
"I took the theme" It Is Time "and used it to go back in time and connect with where we came from," said Brink. "I wanted to celebrate our diversity by bringing together all the elements."
"There are elements of my Dutch heritage as well as fragments of stylized paintings and old objects incorporated into the design."
Winning a prestigious title like the Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Award is an important step in the right direction for Brink
"I'm so excited that my name will come out," added Brink. "Being able to socialize and network with some of the best designers in the country, as well as to let them know my name is great!"
