The Emirates Lions qualified for a third semifinal of Vodacom Super Rugby with their impressive 40-23 win over the Jaguares on Saturday afternoon in Johannesburg. They will meet the Waratah next Saturday at Emirates Airlines Park starting at 3:05 pm in one of the two semifinals.

The Waratahs scored a spectacular 30-23 win over the Highlanders in Sydney to book their place in the last four, after missing a 23-6 deficit at halftime.
Earlier Saturday morning, the Crusaders triumphed 40-10 against the Cell C Sharks in Christchurch to secure their semifinal at home against the Hurricanes, who advanced the Chiefs 32-31 on Friday.

Playing at home on the Highveld, the Emirates Lions outshot their Argentinian opponents by four tries in two, while Elton Jantjies, Springbok half-opener, added 20 points to the boot.

Jantjies delivered an impeccable kick and converted the tries of Ruan Combrinck (wing), Harold Vorster (center), Malcolm Marx (hooker) and Andries Coetzee (back), while adding three penalties and one goal drop .

Their tight five, with the Marx hooker in an exceptional form, delivered an impressive display against the mighty Jaguares pack, which allowed them a solid platform to attack. The Jaguares came back four points behind their hosts at one point (27-23) but Gauteng's club is quickly put in high gear to ward off the visitors' match.

At the early morning game in Christchurch, the Cell C Sharks fought bravely after a bad start, which allowed the kiwi formation to take over.

The Crusaders scored five tries through Bryn Hall, David Havili, Matt Todd, Braydon Ennor and Peter Samu while Richie Mo's unga scored three conversions and three penalties. Kobus van Wyk scored the only Durbanites try, with Robert du Preez adding conversion and a penalty.

The Highlanders took control of the first period and earned their half-time lead over the Waratah in Sydney. However, Bernard Foley scored two of the Waratah's three tries by defeating a 17-point deficit for a spectacular triumph of 30-23.
