CAPE – The National Institute of Sea Rescue (NSRI) urged citizens to remain vigilant when they are near the coast.

The institute issued a full moon tide warning, which will remain in effect until Wednesday.

Spring tides cause tides higher than normal, low tides and dangerously high tides.

NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon said, "The NSRI calls for caution on the coast. We are now at the top of the full moon tide. We urge the public to be cautious around the shoreline, especially fishermen who fish on the shore, people who walk on the beach, hikers along the coast and swimmers.
