Frogfoot is expanding its fiber optic network to home in the Western Cape and plans to connect another 14,000 homes in the southern peninsula.

Frogfoot, a subsidiary of Vox, said its open access network would bring fiber optics to these homes by April 2019.

"In 2016, we launched an aggressive FTTH expansion program and already have already exceeded 30,000 homes, including 20,000 located in Western Cape," said Shane Chorley, Sales Manager at Frogfoot.

The latest fiber deployment will take place at:

  • Fish Hoek
  • corsair
  • Glencairn
  • Kommetjie
  • Edge of the lake
  • Muizenberg
  • Noordhoek
  • San Michel
  • Simon's Town
  • Sun Valley
  • Sunnydale

"Due to the growing demand for seamless connectivity, we see significant growth potential in the FTTH sector. Our commitment is to connect 150,000 homes nationwide by the end of 2019. "

Frogfoot currently offers optical fiber speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 1 Gbps, with a range of Internet Service Providers offering bundles on the network.
