Liverpool has put the finishing touches on a new contract but fans are perplexed and many are wondering "Who are they?".
When Liverpool announced things around Anfield in recent years, this has often been great news. The mega-money transfers of Naby Keita, Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk are eloquent examples.
Even when the news was the subject of sponsorship deals, it was global brands such as Levis, Western Union or MG. Thus, the latest news shocked some fans because they do not know who exactly is the new partner.
The club announced that it was partnering with Mitel to help them in their communication technologies.
They think this is particularly relevant for the club's communication with fans:
"… Enhance the club fan experience by implementing innovative cloud communication and collaboration solutions that will allow fans to connect quickly and securely with the club, wherever you are and on the go. any device, by voice and online calls. "
You do not know how the club will connect with fans via voice calls. Does this mean that they will have a phone number that fans can call? Because they already have one and have been for decades!
Or maybe fans will receive voice calls from the club. Exactly what each fan asked.
According to Wikipedia, Mitel is a telecommunications company based in Ottowa, Canada. Apparently they have been around since 1973, but they are not a society that has been spread to the general public.
This is not the kind of agreement that will enthrall the fans. There has been a lot of rumors that Liverpool would be interested in a further advance in the next transfer windows. Christian Pulisic is a man wanted by other clubs but could still meet at Anfield.
There are other rumors that the Reds will look for a number 9 recognized to share the burden of leading the group with Roberto Firmino.
