Ford in South Africa has introduced a new entry-level EcoSport in its small SUV lineup.
The EcoSport 1.5 Ti-VCT is powered by the same 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that we find in the updated Figo that we have tested in the edition of & dquo; October CAR magazine. However, Ford claims that the unit of this model is credited with 91 kW and 150 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
This basic model is priced at R254 950R12 550 less than the 1.5 TDCi Ambiente variant that previously served as an entry point into the EcoSport range of the Blue Oval brand. Like its diesel, this new EcoSport is offered in Ambiente version.
Features such as Ford's SYNC Multimedia Information System (SYNC3 is for the most advanced varaints), Bluetooth connectivity and voice control, as well as a six-speaker audio system. Front and rear power windows, heated exterior mirrors and air conditioning are also included.
Standard safety features include six air bags, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
According to Ford, the EcoMode in this car helps drivers achieve optimal fuel economy.
The 1.5 Ti-VCT EcoSport Ambiente comes standard with a four-year / 60,000 km service plan, with service intervals of 15,000 km.
