Dan Malesela has closed the book on Chippa United, and no longer even tries to talk about his former club in the interest of closure.
The TS Galaxy coach announced on Wednesday that his new National First Division (NFD) team was preparing for his Nedbank Cup qualifier against Ajax Cape Town at the base of the Kameelrivier stadium, to the north -est from Pretoria, Sunday, that his mind is now firmly anchored his new job.
Malesela was sent off by Chippa, a happy relaxing player, to three games of his season in August, after starting the Absa Premiership with two losses and one draw.
His successor, Eric Tinkler, started with four wins in four games but has since won five games without a win, including three defeats. His club, Siviwe "Chippa" Mpengesi, remained in 12th place in the Absa Premiership.
Malesela was questioned Wednesday at a Nedbank Cup press conference at PSL's Parktown office about Tinkler's persistent struggles in Chippa.
"I'll be honest with you, I promised myself never to talk about Chippa again," said the Orlando Pirates defense of the 1980s.
"I have reasons, because I might not find the end of what happened.
"It's pretty disappointing to be fired after three games. But I have to find the closure to that. And I think I'm progressing well.
"I really want to focus on what I have to do to get ahead. And also be at TS Galaxy, to achieve what we are trying to achieve.
"I'm done with Chippa. My mind clears up.
"Of course there is a little there [in my mind]. And of course, you will not lie and say completely, "Yes, I'm done, I'm done."
"No no, maybe there's a little bit, but I'm progressing well [forgetting]. "
This is the second time Malesela has fired three times in a season with United.
He was asked if his words meant that he had made the decision to never return to the Chilli Boys again.
"No no No, I do not know unless they say that there are only two clubs in the world, and that the only one that you can train is Chippa, and that Another does not want me – so I would go back, "said the Galaxy coach smiling.
"No, but, on a serious note, no. No, I took too many shots, I have enough.
Galaxy, the club formed when former midfielder Tim Sukazi bought the Cape Town All Stars franchise at the end of May, started slowly in the NFD this season and ranks 12th with two wins, seven draws and three losses.
