Epic Games has announced that recent iPhone owners can now enjoy Fortnite at 60 fps, while Android users still have a top speed of 30 fps.
The Fortnite 6.31 update was dropped yesterday, but it seems like an important note for mobile users has been missed. Nick Chester, public relations specialist, jumped on Twitter to get the message across, tweeting that owners of "iPhone XS / XS-Max / XR" can now play at 60 frames per second.
Unfortunately for iPhone X users, Chester added that the option is not available.
"Performance is limited by the hardware and devices listed and more powerful than the X. That said, the team is constantly looking for ways to achieve better performance on all devices at all times!"
60fps is not yet an option for Android users, although a Reddit user claimed to have unlocked this option a few months ago, but it was corrected afterwards.
In a statement to The Verge, Epic said it "continues to work on Android optimizations that could allow us to support a 60hz mode in the future".
The three new iPhone models were announced in September and released this month. You can view our review of the XR here.
Meanwhile, Fortnite's next seasonal event is getting closer, with a cloud of ice moving closer to the map, suggesting the situation is about to cool off just in time for the holidays.
