- The unannounced Huawei Nova 4 was shown on stage at a concert in China.
- The device seems to have a screen similar to Samsung's new Infinity-O display.
- If manufacturers start using these screens, the notch may disappear permanently.
Destroy the enemies, rejoice! The next Huawei Nova 4 has just been shown at a concert in China (via WinFuture.de), and it seems to have a display that will help us usher in our future without a hitch.
As you can see in the pictures, the display on the unannounced announcement of the Nova 4 has a small camera cutout in the upper left corner of the screen. This leaves room for an almost complete bar at the top of the phone, even if it starts slightly to the right of the front camera. For people who have extreme dislike for hacking, it's exciting news.
Popularized by the iPhone X, the notch has been the most controversial decision in smartphone design over the past year. I do not know many people who as show the notches – most people just support them.
We could see more smartphone manufacturers adopt these new screens in the future. Not only does Huawei test them clearly, but Samsung has recently announced a new Infinity-O display that uses the same concept as the Nova 4. In fact, the Galaxy S10 would feature an Infinity-O display.

In addition to the new display, the Huawei Nova 4 seems to feature a very minimal frame around the screen. It also looks like it's packaged in a box. We are therefore unable to indicate many other design features. If you want to take a closer look at the phone, skip to around 35:30 in this video.
Any thoughts on this new display? Would you be satisfied if OEMs abandoned the notch to use these screens? I would be sure.
